Jon was born and grew up in the north
Okanogan Valley town of Oroville. He first
attended the University of Washington and then
found his true home with his beloved Cougars
in Pullman. Shortly after college, he settled down
in his present location of Wenatchee.
Jon describes himself as a "Jack of All
Trades and unfortunately a Master of None".
Among his work resume, he includes teaching and
coaching, real estate, construction, and Firefighting.
He started his career in firefighting as a
Smokejumper out of Winthrop and ended as a
captain (Captain Picard) at the Wenatchee Fire
Jon has always had a passion for travel and adventure. He has traveled to 6 of the 7 continents, stood on top the of roof of Africa, and summited all the northwest volcanoes. Nine years ago, Jon planted the first vines on his current property. Three years later, he produced his first estate wine. Admittedly, it was a pretty weak beginning, yet 3 years later, he was earning state amateur awards. He now has the privilege of partnering with Pete Mathews his friend of 30 years. As co-
